ICANN’s announcement in June 2008 to loosen regulations on creating Top Level Domains (TLD) is revolutionizing the world of Internet domain names. MailClub is ready to help tailor your web marketing strategy to this new landscape.
The opportunity to design your own rules for naming will offer countless new marketing and development opportunities. Companies will be able to create their own domains using their own extensions, which they will administer in accordance with their own personalized registration policies. Using a Corporate TLD will naturally reduce the risks associated with cybersquatting. Each market or product could have its own domain name - e.g. france.danone, uk.microsoft, etc. with full protection against outside parties hijacking its Corporate TLD.
Corporate TLDs must follow the standards set out by ICANN which will be published in 2009, and which will allow the implementation of company-specific security rules, such as in the structure of Domain Name Systems (DNS). Some new features will include optimised resolution times, dynamic localisation management, DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC), anti-phishing measures, and more. Since the company sets its own rules, there will be no limit to the possibilities in security enhancement, flexibility and reactivity.
The MailClub offer will be broken down into five steps:
1) Study of feasibility,
2) Preparation of business plan and ICANN application,
3) Implementation of Corporate TLD,
4) Launch of Corporate TLD and
5) Management of Corporate TLD.
This new service assembles the expertise of a
number of specialists in domain naming and combines legal, technical and
administrative know-how that can only be mastered with years of experience.
